About the Academy

State Educational Establishment «Belarusian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education» (BelMAPE) is one of the oldest educational institutions in the CIS countries. Physicians, nurses, lecturers, scientists and other professionals working in the healthcare system in Belarus and foreign countries are welcome to undergo advanced training and retraining courses, as well as postgraduate training program, PhD training and clinical residency program. 

Belarusian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education was founded in 1931. Today it is a unique educational academic and research center in Belarus, a leading establishment for further education of adults in the field of medicine.

Annually, more than 18,000 physicians undergo advanced training courses at 52 departments of BelMAPE. Approximately, 500 physicians from Belarus and foreign countries, such as Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East, do PhD training and clinical residency program.

The Academy has a huge scientific and pedagogical staff potential. Among them, there are 2 academicians of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Belarus, 2 corresponding members of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Belarus, 81 Doctors of Medical Sciences and 273 Candidates of Medical Sciences.

The scientific and pedagogical staff is trained at the Scientific and Research Laboratory, where there had been founded and accredited the Center for collective use of unique scientific equipment. Due to the powerful intellectual potential, unique material and technical supply, the Academy received the recognition of the leading center, dealing with the training of highly qualified scientific personnel and with the invention of new medical technologies for prevention, diagnostics and treatment of many diseases.

The Academy has Professor's Advisory Medical Center, which made it possible for the whole population of the Republic of Belarus to have access to the high-quality medical care.

The Academy cooperates with the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Belarus, medical academies of postgraduate  education of Moscow, Saint - Petersburg, Kiev, as well as Poland (Bialystok Medical Academy), Japan (Hiroshima University), Turkey (Ankara and Hacettepe universities), Italy (Milan and Bologna universities), which proves its leading positions in Belarus and abroad.
