Online seminar-meeting of the national coordinators of the Schools for Health of Europe and countries of Eastern Europe and Central Asia
On the 23rd of September, 2020, Elena Guzik, head of the Department of Hygiene and Medical Ecology of BelMAPE, participated in the Annual Seminar-Meeting of the National Coordinators of the Schools for Health of Europe and countries of Eastern Europe and Central Asia, organized by the National Medical Research Center for Children’s Health of the Ministry of Health of Russia, WHO Regional Office, Executive Committee of the European Schools for Health, Moscow office of the European Schools for Health (SHE). Elena Guzik presented the project report «School is a territory of health» for the years 2019–2020, and talked about the peculiarities of the educational process at secondary schools in Belarus during pandemic COVID-19.
Coordinators from Azerbaijan, Armenia, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russian Federation, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan gave reports about SHE schools and the influence of pandemic COVID-19 on children’s health. Also, the representative of WHO,
Aigul Kuttumuratova, gave the report «School education in the European region of WHO during pandemic COVID-19”.
The report “Peculiarities of life and well-being of children and teenagers of Russia, who get distance education due to the pandemic COVID-19», given by Anna Sedova, the deputy head for science of the Scientific and Research Center for Hygiene and Protection of Children’s Health of the Ministry of Health of Russia, aroused a great interest among the participants of the meeting. She talked about the result of the questionnaire survey, according to which about 30 thousands pupils of 5 – 11 grades from 79 regions of Russia, participated in the survey.
Anette Schultz, a SHE manager, gave the reports: «Implementation of the European standards and indicators for SHE schools”, «Manuals for schools. Version 2.0 — progress and peculiarities».
The reports given by Anastasia Koylu and Aigul Kuttumuratova «Health Literacy in the European regions of WHO» stressed upon the question - what is new in health education in schools.
The seminar-meeting was held in a friendly atmosphere, all the presented materials aroused a great interest among the participants of the meeting.
