The webinar “International approaches to the work of specialists with secondary medical education in obstetric organizations. Modern technologies of obstetrics from the perspective of breastfeeding”

On August 25, 2022, the third webinar “International approaches to the work of specialists with secondary medical education in obstetric organizations" was held online. Modern technologies of obstetrics from the perspective of breastfeeding” was held online.

The project was moderated by the senior lecturer of the Department of Public Health and Healthcare Svetlana Denisova.

The webinar was opened by Dean of the Faculty of Public Health and Healthcare, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Irina Tikhonenko, who emphasized the relevance of the event in the frameworks of the implementation of the demographic policy of our state.

Currently, in solving the problems of improving the quality of medical care in obstetric organizations, a significant role belongs to specialists with secondary medical education.

Considering the issues of personnel training of specialists, the need to train specialists in obstetrics of a new type is especially urgent: highly qualified, able to work in a team, ready to implement the formed competencies in any situation that requires a quick and adequate decision.

The speakers of the webinar were: Alexander Davidenko, Program Coordinator of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in the Republic of Belarus; Vasily Shostak, Deputy Chief Physician for Obstetric and Gynecological Care of the 5th City Clinical Hospital, Candidate of Medical Sciences; Nadezhda Dubatovka, director of LLC Center for Modern Pediatrics; Diana Mardas, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Public Health and Healthcare of BelMAPE.

During the webinar, international approaches to the work of specialists with secondary medical education in obstetric organizations were considered, the roles of midwives and nurses in obstetric care were determined, modern technologies of obstetric care from the position of breastfeeding and modern evidence of the benefits of breastfeeding for the health of mother and child were studied.

Particular attention was paid to the development of educational technologies in the professional training of medical workers of obstetric organizations. The webinar participants got acquainted with educational resources on breastfeeding that operate in the Republic of Belarus and will be able to use them in practice.
