International cooperation. Visit of the delegation of the World Health Organization Country Office to BelMAPE

On the 31st of March, 2021, State Educational Establishment "Belarusian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education" was visited by a delegation of the WHO Country Office in Belarus, consisting of the Special Representative of the WHO Regional Director - Head of the WHO Country Office in Belarus, Dr. Masoud Dara, Coordinator of Infectious Diseases Programs of the WHO Country Office in Belarus V.I.Grankov and Coordinator of Public Health Programs of the WHO Country Office in Belarus V.Z. Rusovich.

The guests were received by the Rector of BelMAPE, Alexei Chukanov. The meeting was also attended by the Vice-Rector for Clinical Work, Andrei Platonov, Dean of the Faculty of Therapy, Elena Vorobyova, Head of the Department of Endocrinology of BelMAPE, Larisa Danilova, Head of the International Relations Department, Sergei Kozachenko.

The head of the delegation of the WHO Country Office in Belarus, Dr. Masoud Dara, got acquainted the audience on the main areas of the Office's activities in the Republic of Belarus, dwelling in detail on each of the areas.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the issues of bilateral cooperation in the field of postgraduate medical education, the organization and conduct of educational advanced training courses, scientific, practical and educational events with the specialists of BelMAPE, also in the frameworks of overcoming the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The WHO Country Office in Belarus gave a high appraisal of the work of the departments of BelMAPE and expressed a wish to continue cooperation on the main areas.

The vice-rector for medical work, A.V. Platonov, acquainted the guests with the organization of work and the material and technical base of the Academy, the possibilities of holding educational events on the basis of BelMAPE.

The delegation also visited the Department of Public Health and Healthcare, where the head of the Department of Public Health and Healthcare, Marina Shchaveleva, acquainted the guests with the organization of work and the educational system at the department. There had also been discussed possibility of participation of the head of the WHO Country Office in Belarus, Dr. Masoud Dara, in the educational process of the Academy.

The head of the delegation of the WHO Country Office in Belarus, Dr. Masoud Dara, left an entry in the Book of Honorary Guests of BelMAPE.

At the end of the meeting, the guests thanked the management and representatives of State Educational Establishment "Belarusian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education" for the hospitality and organization of the visit.
