Participation of BelMAPE at the Annual Republican Conference with International Participation "Management of Neurological Diseases, including Orphan Diseases"

On September 29-30, 2022, Astana hosted the annual republican conference with international participation “Management of neurological diseases, including orphan diseases”.
The Republic of Belarus was represented at the conference by Associate Professor of the Department of Pediatric Neurology of BelMAPO, Head of the Republican Center for Hereditary Neuromuscular Diseases for Patients Under 18 (RSPC "Mother and Child"), Chief Freelance Specialist of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus on Hereditary Neuromuscular Diseases in Children Irina Zhevneronok.
During the conference, Irina Zhevneronok made the presentation “Experience in the management of spinal muscular atrophy in the Republic of Belarus”, and also acted as a moderator and jury member in the poster session of rare clinical cases.
During the conference, key issues in the diagnosis and treatment of orphan diseases, including nosology, were highlighted:

• spinal muscular atrophy;
• duchenne myodystrophy;
• neurofibromatosis;
• difficulties in the treatment of orphan diseases and possible ways to solve them, issues of rehabilitation and habilitation of patients with neurological diseases.

The conference speakers were leading specialists of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Russian Federation in the field of pediatric neurology and neurorehabilitation.
