On the 3rd of June 2022, there had been held the Republican Scientific and Practical Conference with international participation “Laparoscopic and Minimally Invasive Surgery at the Diseases of the Colon” in a hybrid format. The conference was attended by more than 100 delegates from all regions of the Republic of Belarus.
The conference was devoted to the issues of minimally invasive and laparoscopic colorectal surgery, familiarizing specialists with the content of clinical protocols for diagnosing and treating patients (adult population) with benign diseases of the rectum, pararectal and coccygeal region in outpatient settings and departments with a short stay.
Leading specialists from the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus working in the field of colorectal surgery were invited to the conference as speakers.

BelMAPE was represented by vice-rector for research, Doctor of Medical Sciences, professor, honored scientist of the Republic of Belarus Yury Gain; professor of the Department of Emergency Surgery, Doctor of Medical Sciences, professor Sergey Shakhrai; associate professor of the Department of Emergency Surgery, Candidate of Medical Sciences, associate professor Yuri Orlovsky; associate professor of the Department of Surgery, Candidate of Medical Sciences, associate professor, chief visiting specialist in endoscopy of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus Natalya Lagodich.
In total, there had been given and discussed 20 reports. Positive trends in the economic development of the state, strengthening the material and technical base of healthcare institutions of the Republic of Belarus, equipping them with new modern devices and effective medicines, as well as improving the organization of the work of the proctological service as a whole, have significantly improved the quality of care for patients with this pathology.
Based on the results of the exchange of experience and discussions on topical issues of proctology, the participants of the conference noted that many modern methods of diagnostics and treatment of proctological diseases have confirmed their effectiveness. Today, they are widely used in healthcare institutions of the Republic of Belarus. This concerns, first of all, the widespread introduction of minimally invasive technologies into the practice of colorectal surgery using the achievements of the V and VI technological modes of civilization, the use of which, as practical experience shows, allows obtaining a sufficient clinical effect, leads to a decrease in mortality rates, a reduction in the average length of stay of patients. in a hospital and obtaining a significant economic effect. The widespread introduction of diagnostic and operative endovideolaparoscopy into practice deserves a special approval.
