On November 18, 2022, head of the library of BelMAPE Soroka A. A. and leading librarians Kolbasko A. A. and Korzanova A. P. took part in the republican practical seminar "Electronic Library of the Republican Scientific Medical Library - New Opportunities for Users", which was held at the Republican Scientific Medical Library.
The director of the Republican Scientific Medical Library Veronika Shutova and deputy director for scientific and methodological work Marina Pshibytko made a welcoming speech.
The seminar participants were introduced to the electronic information resources of the Republican Scientific Medical Library, their capabilities and practical application, the structure and principles of acquisition of the Republican Scientific Medical Library funds, the features of the main fund, they were told about the library’s exchange fund as a potential source of replenishment of the resource base of medical libraries. During the event, specialists were informed about the main information services and virtual services of the library (individual distribution of information, preparation of bibliographic lists, indexing of documents, electronic delivery of documents, virtual reference service) and the new convenient service of the Republican Scientific Medical Library - the Electronic Medical Library, revealed the main advantages of the resource, demonstrated algorithm for working with it.
In continuation of the seminar, a master-class had been organized for the guests, where they could get acquainted in practice with the basics of working with the Electronic Medical Library. Upon its completion, all participants were awarded the certificates.
Further, specialists of medical libraries were given a unique opportunity to visit the department of resource formation of the Republican Scientific Medical Library and select documents on the spot from the exchange fund for the acquisition of their institutions.
The event ended with a tour in the Museum of the History of Medicine of Belarus of the Republican Scientific Medical Library.
