Participation of Specialists of the Department of Pediatrics of BelMAPE at the Republican Scientific and Practical Conference  with International Participation « Vitebsk Spring 2022: Innovations in Allergology and Immunology”, Dedicated to the Memory of Professor D. K. Novikov

On the 12-13th of May, 2022, specialists of the Department of Pediatrics of BelMAPE took part in the Republican Scientific and Practical Conference with international participation "Vitebsk Spring 2022: Innovations in Allergology and Immunology", dedicated to the memory of Professor D. K. Novikov, which was held in a hybrid format. The conference was organized by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus, Belarusian Public Association "Association of Allergologists and Clinical Immunologists", the Center for Advanced Technologies in Immunology and Allergology of the World Allergy Organization (WAO Center of Excellence (WCOE) of Vitebsk State Medical University.

Vice-Rector for Research, professor Elena Asiryan addressed the conference participants with a welcoming speech, who emphasized the relevance of the issues proposed for discussion of the conference program and the participation of leading experts in the field of allergology and immunology, both from near and far abroad.

Ishchenko O. V., head of the Department of Clinical Immunology and Allergology of Vitebsk State Medical University, made a report on the topic “Scientific and Pedagogical School of Professor Dmitry Novikov”.

Before the scientific part of the program, the conference participants honored the memory of the outstanding scientist, head of the department of clinical immunology and allergology of Vitebsk State Medical University (2001–2021), academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, Doctor of Medical Sciences Dmitry Novikov with a minute of silence.

As part of the conference, more than 50 reports on topical issues of modern allergology and immunology were presented.

Specialists of the Department of Pediatrics of State Educational Establishment "Belarusian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education" took an active part in the work of the conference: head of the Department of Pediatrics Aleksey Pochkaylo, professor of the Department of Pediatrics Nadezhda Titova, associate professor of the Department of Pediatrics Anna Ruban, teacher apprentice of the Department of Pediatrics Igor Nazarchuk. Conference speakers spoke on topical issues of the treatment of chronic urticaria, allergic rhinitis, food allergies, and drug hypersensitivity in children.

The reports were presented by the chief freelance allergist and immunologist of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus Antonina Osipova “Sensitization to the r ani s1 protein”, the visiting children's allergist of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus Dmitry Buza “Allergy to cow's milk proteins in young children”.

Also, leading specialists from the Russian Federation took part in the conference: Director of the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution “Scientific Research Institute of Vaccines and Serums named after V.I. I. I. Mechnikov "Svitich O. A.; associate professor of the Department of Clinical Immunology and Allergology of Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education "Saratov State Medical University named after V. I. Razumovsky" Gamova I. V.; associate professor of the Department of Children's Diseases No. 2 of the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education "Rostov State Medical University" Semernik O. E.

The reports were presented by specialists of Federal State Budgetary Institution “SSC Institute of Immunology” of the FMBA of Russia: professor Latysheva T.V., researcher Manto I.A., head of the laboratory of molecular genetic studies Kostinova A.M.

The conference was attended by Doctor of Medical Sciences, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Nabieva U.P., head of the Laboratory of Autoimmune Conditions of the Institute of Immunology and Human Genomics of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Rudolf Valenta, head of the Department of Immunopathology of the Department of Pathophysiology and Allergy Research of Vienna Medical University, participated at the conference with the lectures “Development of the vaccine against SARS-CoV-2 that provides cross-protection against virus variants”, “Clinical results of a recombinant allergovaccine for grass pollen allergy BM32”.

Professor Brian Martin, President of the World Allergy Organization (WAO), joined the conference and presented the latest scientific data on the biological therapy of allergic diseases.

At the end of the conference, the organizers summed up and thanked the speakers for the high professional level of the presentations, and the guests and participants of the forum for their interest, attention and activity during the conference.
