Republican scientific and practical conference with international participation "Actual Issues of Outpatient Pediatrics"

On the 19th of November, 2021, there had been held online Republican scientific and practical conference with international participation "Actual Issues of Outpatient Pediatrics", dedicated to the memory of professor V. F. Zhernosek, a pediatrician, Doctor of Medical Sciences, professor, head of the Department of Outpatient Pediatrics of BelMAPE. The conference took place in BelMAPE.

Professor V.F. Zhernosek had been working at the Academy since 1989. He started his career as an assistant and was promoted to the post of head of the department. He was also a chief visiting pediatric allergist of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus. For a number of years, he supervised the work of the Republican Center for Children's Allergology. He founded his own scientific school. He took an active part in the certification of scientific and medical workers; he was a member of a number of professional and public associations. He was awarded the badge "Excellent Health Worker of the Republic of Belarus", Certificates of Honor of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus, BelMAPE, the main health department of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee.

The republican conference was organized by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus, Belarusian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education, and Republican Society of Pediatricians.

Opening the republican conference, Vice-Rector for Clinical Work of BelMAPE A.V. Platonov, Dean of the Pediatrics Faculty of BelMAPE O.G. Rodtsevich and head of the Department of Pediatrics of BelMAPE A.S. Pochkailo noted the outstanding contribution of professor V. F. Zhernosek to the development of the pediatric services of the Republic of Belarus, the relevance and multidisciplinary nature of the conference topics, its focus on practical aspects of work of outpatient specialists.

More than 500 registered medical specialists took part in the online conference, including pediatricians, general practitioners, allergologists-immunologists, faculty members of pediatric departments of medical educational institutions.

The program of the republican conference included 2 sections: "Topical issues of outpatient pediatrics" and "Topical issues of allergology." The issues of infectious morbidity in childhood were discussed, including topical aspects of influenza, COVID-19, pneumonia in children, topical aspects of pediatric nutrition, pediatric cardiology, including syncope, arterial hypertension, rare ECG syndromes in children, pediatric allergology, including bronchial asthma, urticaria, allergic rhinitis, food allergy in pediatric practice.

In the frameworks of the scientific sections of the conference, reports were presented on relevant topics, the results of scientific researches conducted at the department by the staff of the Department of Pediatrics of BelMAPE - head of the department A. A. Pochkailo, professor N. D. Titova, associate professors of the department - I. A. Nenartovich, A. P Ruban, N. V. Goloborodko, E. K. Khrustaleva, S. M. Korol, senior lecturer A. A. Galashevskaya, trainee lecturers E. I. Dunaeva, I. I. Nazarchuk.

The scientific program of the conference also included reports by leading domestic specialists in relevant areas of pediatrics, representatives of pediatric departments of medical educational institutions and healthcare institutions of the Republic of Belarus, chief freelance specialists of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus.

Interesting report were given by foreign speakers at the conference: E. N. Okhotnikova, head of the Department of Pediatrics No. 1 of the National University of Healthcare of Ukraine named after P. L. Shupyk, Doctor of Medical Sciences, professor, Vice President of the Association of Pediatric Allergists of the Ukraine, Chairman of the Association of Pediatricians of Kiev region (Kiev, the Ukraine); L. Malinauskienė, professor, allergist-immunologist, President of the Vilnius Regional Society of Allergologists and Clinical Immunologists, Vilnius University Hospital Santara, Center for Pulmonology and Allergology, Faculty of Medicine, Vilnius University, Institute of Clinical Medicine, Clinic of Chest Diseases, Immunology and Allergology (G . Vilnius, Republic of Lithuania); D. O. Akhmetzhanova, acting associate professor of the Department of Pediatrics and Medical Rehabilitation named after. D. M. Tusupova, PhD, Semey Medical University NJSC (Semey, Republic of Kazakhstan).

At the conference there had also been discussed clinical and pharmacological aspects and features of the use of drugs in pediatrics, presented new drugs and baby food products of domestic production.

In the closing speech on the results of the conference, head of the Department of Pediatrics of BelMAPE A. S. Pochkailo, on behalf of the organizing committee, thanked the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus, the management and employees of BelMAPE for their assistance in organizing and holding the conference, expressed gratitude to all participants, guests and speakers of the conference for fruitful cooperation.
