Republican Scientific and Practical Conference with International Participation «PUBLIC HEALTH FORUM: Man. Health. Environment»

Republican scientific and practical conference with international participation “PUBLIC HEALTH FORUM: Man. Health. Environment” was held on April 20, 2022 at State Educational Establishment “Belarusian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education”.

During the conference, there had been held a plenary session, at which the Deputy Minister of Health - Chief State Sanitary Doctor of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Tarasenko gave the report entitled "State of health of the population of the Republic of Belarus and ways to minimize the risk factors which form it."

Alexander Tarasenko thanked the organizers and participants of the forum, noted the exceptional importance of implementing the principles of primary prevention in the country and the efforts made in this regard by the sanitary and epidemiological service, which is at the forefront of state efforts to implement the principles of preventive medicine.

Rector of BelMAPE Aleksey Chukanov addressed the conference participants with a welcoming speech, who emphasized the relevance, practical orientation and multidisciplinary nature of the conference program, as well as the possibility of holding it in person, which expands the opportunities for communication between the speakers and its participants.

The plenary session continued with speeches by speakers from the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Anna Romanova, Academic Secretary, associate professor of the Department of Public Health and Healthcare of BelMAPE, Candidate of Medical Sciences, associate professor, presented the report entitled “Socio-historical determinants of the dynamics of mortality in the Republic of Belarus in the context of demographic aging”.

Elena Drozdova, Deputy Director for Research of the Republican Unitary Enterprise "Scientific and Practical Center for Hygiene", Candidate of Medical Sciences, associate professor, made the presentation entitled "Scientific substantiation of measures to prevent diseases caused by the influence of environmental factors of a person of various nature, in modern conditions of social economic development of the Republic”.

Head of the Department of Hygiene and Medical Ecology of BelMAPE Elena Guzik, Doctor of Medical Sciences, associate professor, made the report entitled “Hygienic assessment of the organization of the educational process in modern institutions of general secondary education as a risk factor for non-communicable diseases”.

Ekaterina Fedorenko, Deputy Director for Support of Practical Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance and Work with the Republican Unitary Enterprise "Scientific and Practical Center for Hygiene", Candidate of Medical Sciences, associate professor, spoke about topical issues of population nutrition and food safety in the context of the public health.

Professor of the Department of Preventive Disciplines and Nutrition of Astana Medical University, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Nur-Sultan, Republic of Kazakhstan, Plyasovskaya Svetlana made the report entitled "Diet therapy and diet diagnostics of cow's milk protein allergy in young children".
The conference program had five thematic sections on the most important areas of healthcare: "Nutrition as a leading factor in disease prevention", "IT technologies in preventive medicine", "Risk reduction paradigm: global approaches and regional experience", "Health of children and adolescents, hygienic approaches to disease prevention”, “Infectious diseases and their prevention”.

In order to improve professional competence, more than 200 heads and medical specialists of bodies and institutions exercising state sanitary supervision, doctors of other specialties, students of higher medical institutions from Minsk and all regions of the Republic of Belarus took part in the conference in full-time and online format.

In addition, all medical specialists, interested in the conference, could participate the conference online.

All reports aroused genuine interest of the conference participants, which was manifested in the many questions received by the speakers and a lively discussion on actual topics of the conference.
