Aleksandr Benko was born on the 1st of July, 1975 in Grodno, in a family of musicians.
After finishing school in 1992 he was admitted to Grodno State Medical Institute, which he graduated from in 1998.
From 1998 to 1999 he completed an internship on surgery; from 1999 to 2001 he worked at the Orthopedic and Traumatology Unit of Slonim Central Republican Hospital.
In 2001 he underwent retraining curses at the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology of BelMAPE.
From 2001 to 2003 Aleksandr Benko did his clinical residency at the Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics of BelMAPE.
In 2003 he started his PhD course.
Since 2004 Aleksandr Benko has been working as an assistant of the Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics of BelMAPE.
In 2008 he defended his Candidate’s thesis: «New technologies in the treatment of traumatic defects of limb soft tissues with the application of dosage forms on the basis of hydrogel».
In 2009 Aleksandr Benko was awarded with a grant of the President of the Republic of Belarus for the development and implementation of new technologies for the treatment of traumatic defects of limb soft tissues.
Since 2014 until the present Aleksandr Benko has been working as an associate professor of the Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics.
He is an author of 2 patents, 45 printing works, among of them - 18 works are in English.
Aleksandr Benko is a member of the World Orthopedic Organization. Frequently, he gave reports at republican and international conferences. He had internships in leading orthopedic centers of Europe.
His main scientific interests are the following ones: endoprosthesis of knee and hip joints - primary and revisory; organ preservation operations at deforming arthrosis of knee joint, avascular necrosis of whirlbone; minimally invasive osteosynthesis of limb bone fractures.
