Dmitry Nitkin

Dmitry Nitkin was born on the 15th of September, 1973 in Borisov town of Minsk region.

He graduated with distinction from Red Banner of Labor Minsk State Medical Institute on the specialty «General Medicine» in 1996.

From 1996 to 1997 he worked as an intern in urology at the 1st Urology Division in Minsk City Clinical Hospital № 4.

From 1997 to 1999 Dmitry Nitkin underwent his training at clinical residency of Red Banner of Labour Belarusian State Institute of Advanced Training of Physicians.

From 1999 to 2003 he worked as an urologist at the Urology Unit of Red Banner of Labour Minsk Regional Clinical Hospital № 2.

From 2003 to 2006 he did a PhD course at the Department of Urology of State Educational Establishment «Belarusian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education».

From 2006 to 2010 he worked as an assistant at the Department of Urology of State Educational Establishment «Belarusian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education».

From 2010 to 2013 Dmitry Nitkin worked as an associate professor at the Department of Urology of State Educational Establishment «Belarusian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education».

From 2013 to September, 2018 he continued his career working as a head of the Department of Urology and Nephrology of State Educational Establishment «Belarusian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education».

Since September, 2018 until the present Dmitry Nitkin has been working as Rector of State Educational Establishment «Belarusian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education».

In 2006 he successfully defended his Candidate’s Thesis on the topic «Justification of metabolic disorders correction at urinary stone disease».

In 2011 by the decision of State Commission for Academic Degrees and Titles of Belarus he obtained the academic title «associate professor» on the specialty «Clinical Medicine».

In 2018 Dmitry Nitkin successfully defended his Doctor’s Thesis on the topic «Age-related disorders of androgenic status in men: role in the development of urology diseases»; by the decision of the Presidium of State Commission for Academic Degrees and Titles of 16 May, 2018, he obtained a scientific degree of the Doctor of Medical Sciences.

His scientific researches mainly deal with the following issues: metabolic disorders at urinary stone disease, age-related disorders of androgenic status in urology patients, male infertility, surgical andrology and urogynecology. Based on the results of his researches he developed and implemented diagnostic and treatment methods of the following disorders into the practical healthcare: age-related disorders of androgenic status of men, metabolic disorders at urinary stone disease, male infertility, chordee, contortion of urethral strictures, treatment of urinary incontinence in women.

The list of his publications is huge: 173 scientific works published locally and abroad, 3 monographs, 10 study guides, 2 handbooks, 8 instructions for use, 7 patents for invention and 2 rationalization proposals.

At present, 3 dissertation theses for the degree of a Candidate of Medical Sciences are being carries out under his supervision.

Dmitry Nitkin is a doctor of a higher qualifying category on the specialty «Urology». He has a 22-year practical experience in urology. He is acquainted with all methods of diagnostics and treatment of urologic patients. His practical interests are connected with the following areas: endoscopic urology, reconstructive urology, urogynecology, surgical andrology. He participated in multiple internships in University clinics of Austria and Germany mastering his theoretical and practical knowledge.

He is a chief part-time expert in urology and andrology of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus.

He is a member of editorial board of the journals «Reproductive Health. East Europe» and «Experimental Urology».

He is a member of the Belarusian Association of Urologists, an active member of the European Association of Urologists. Dmitry Nitkin is a Deputy Chief of the Public Association "Belarusian Association of Urologists".

Several times he was awarded by Honorary Certificates and Gratitudes issued by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus and BelMAPE. He was honored to be awarded by a Grant from the President of the Republic of Belarus in 2018. He also got an “Award for excellence in healthcare” (2018).
