Elena Ivashina graduated from Minsk Red Banner of Labor State Medical Institute on the specialty “General Medicine” in 1974. After the graduation she worked as a junior scientific researcher at Belarusian Scientific and Research Institute for Neurology, Neurosurgery and Physiotherapy. In 1988, she started to work as an assistant at the Department of Pediatric Neurology of Belarusian State Institute for Advanced Medical Training. In 1988, Elena Ivashina defended her Candidate’s thesis entitled «Metabolic imbalance of some biologically active substances and their correction at neurological manifestations of lumbar osteochondrosis». In 2001, Elena Ivashina got the academic title of an associate professor on the specialty «Clinical Medicine». Elena Ivashina is a neurologist with the highest qualification category.
Elena Ivashina is a consultant of the Republican Clinical Medical Center of the President’s Office of the Republic of Belarus. From 2002 to 2010, Elena Ivashina was a chief visiting neurologist of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus.
Elena Ivashina is an author of 150 publications, a coauthor of a three-volume educational guide on neurology, 2 monographs: «Clinical manifestation of lumbar osteochondrosis in children and teenagers» and «Epileptic disorders of symptomatic genesis at an early age», 2 clinical guides: «Encyclopedia of pediatric neurologist», «Federal guidance on pediatric neurology», 2 instructions for use, approved by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus, 11 educational guides. Her scientific work is mainly devoted to epilepsy in children, noninfectious subfebrile condition.
Elena Ivashina is a member of the Board of the Republican Scientific Society of Neurologists and Neurosurgeons, Supervisory Board of the International Charitable Children’s Emergency Fund «Chance».
Elena Ivashina got a reward for excellence in healthcare in 2013, certificates of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus, Health Administration of Minsk Regional Executive Committee, BelMAPE, Minsk Regional Maternity Hospital.
