Irina Burko

Irina Burko was born in Minsk in a family of employees. In 1987 she graduated with distinction from Minsk Red Banner of Labor State Medical Institute with a specialization «General Medicine». In 1991, after the graduation, she worked as an endocrinologist at Minsk City Clinical Hospital № 10.

From 1991 to 1996 Irina Burko underwent clinical residency at the Department of Endocrinology of Belarusian State Institute for Advanced Medical Training.

Since 1996 she has been working as an assistant at the Department of Endocrinology of BelMAPE, and afterwards - as an associate professor.

In 2002 Irina Burko defended her Candidate’s thesis on endocrinology entitled «Condition of thyroid in the employees, working at Belarusian Metallurgic Plant according to the data of a long-term screening».

In 2012 she was awarded the academic title of an associate professor on the specialty «Clinical Medicine».

Irina Burko has the highest qualification category on endocrinology.

She is an author and co-author of more than 50 scientific works and study guides. Her main scientific interests are the following ones: thyroid pathology, reproductive system, metabolic syndrome.

Irina Burko is a secretary of the Public Organization «Belarusian Association of Endocrinologists».

She is a member of the Republican Personnel Review Board for therapists on the specialty “Endocrinology”.

Irina Burko is a member of the European Society of Endocrinologists, a board member of the Belarusian League for the Struggle against Arterial Hypertension.

Irina Burko conducts medical advisory work at Minsk Clinical Hospital № 10, Minsk  Endocrinology Dispensary, Professor Advisory Center of BelMAPE, Republican Center for Emergency Medical Care and Disaster Medicine.
