Associate professor of the Department of Cardiology and Resuscitation, Candidate of Medical Sciences, rheumatologist of the 1st qualification category

In 2009 Margarita Volkova graduated from Vitebsk State Medical University with a distinction on the specialty «General Medicine». From 2010 to 2013 she did her intramural postgraduate training program on the specialty «Internal Diseases» at the Department of Hospital Therapy of Vitebsk State Medical University. In 2012 she was awarded a scholarship of the President of the Republic of Belarus. In 2013 Margarita Volkova defended her Candidate’s thesis entitled «Peculiarities of immunopathogenesis and diagnostics of early arthritides, taking into account enzymatic activity of blood serum and polyclonals» on the specialty “Rheumatology”. From 2013 to 2016 she had been working as an assistant, associate professor at the Department of Hospital Therapy, Internal Diseases №2 of Vitebsk State Medical University. From 2016 to 2019 she did her Doctoral Candidacy program (intramural form of training) on the specialties «Rheumatology» and «Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics» at the Department of Cardiology and Rheumatology of BelMAPE. Since November, 2019 Margarita Volkova has been working as an associate professor at the Department of Cardiology and Rheumatology of BelMAPE at Minsk City Clinical Hospital № 1.

  • a training course «Rheumatology», Minsk, Belarusian Medical Academy of Postgraduate  Education (March, April 2016, 160 hours).

Margarita Volkova is an author and coauthor of more than 100 scientific works, among them there are 2 monographs «Rational pharmacotherapy of rheumatoid arthritis» and «Clinical absimology: achievements and perspectives», atlas «100 cases from the practice of a rheumatologist», 45 articles in peer-reviewed journals (4 ones in foreign English publications).

Margarita Volkova is a co-author of 7 instructions for use, being approved by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus. The results of scientific researches have been implemented into the work of healthcare organizations.

From 2012 to 2014 Margarita Volkova coordinated the project «Pathogenic and diagnostic role of catalytic activity of antibodies and enzymatic activity of blood serum at early arthritis», from 2016 to 2019 Margarita Volkova was a principal investigator of the research target  «To develop and implement the method of differentiated treatment of autoimmune diseases (rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis), taking into account their clinical and immunological peculiarities» of the state scientific and technical program «New methods of medical care», subprogram «Internal Diseases».

Margarita Volkova regularly participates at international medical conferences and congresses, devoted to the issues of rheumatology. She got several educational grants: EULAR 2011 (London), EULAR 2013 (Madrid), EULAR 2018 (Amsterdam). She also gave reports at the International Congress “Exсellence in Rheumatology” in Madrid (2012), at the 15th International Immunological Congress ICI 2013 (Milan), Forum of Young Rheumatologists MYRACE 2013 (Germany), at the congresses «Day of Immunology in Saint Petersburg», «Days of Rheumatology in Saint Petersburg (Saint Petersburg, 2017, 2018), «Botkin Readings» (Saint Petersburg, 2018), the 14th Symposium on antibodies (Dresden, Germany, 2019).

Margarita Volkova is an active member of the Belarusian Association of Physicians and Belarusian Society of Rheumatologists.
