Oksana Tonko was born in the city of Tomsk in Russia. In 1995, she graduated from Minsk State Medical Institute with distinction.
After the graduation, from 1995 to 1999, she worked as an assistant at the Department of Hygiene of Children and Teenagers of Minsk State Medical Institute.
Since June 1999, she has been working at BelMAPE. In 2007, she defended Candidate’s thesis on epidemiology. In 2008, she got the academic title of associate professor. In 2009, she got the highest qualification category in bacteriology.
She is an author of more than 150 scientific and study guides. The main topics of lectures: epidemiology and microbiology diagnostics of infectious diseases. The main topic of scientific investigations: epidemiology of hospital-acquired infections, microbiological criteria of food safety. Oksana Tonko is a participant and responsible executor of a number of scientific projects aimed at the development and improvement of microbiological safety control systems.
