Petr Rusakevich was born in the village of Karachevschina in Smarhon district of Grodno region. From 1965 to 1969, he underwent training at Molodechno Medical College, and graduated it with distinction. From 1969 to 1975, Petr Rusakevich underwent training at Grodno Medical Institute with distinction. After the internship at Lida Central Hospital, he had been working as an obstetrician-gynecologist for 7 years at Smorgon Central Regional Hospital.
From 1982 to 1984, he did clinical residency at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology №2 of Belarusian State Institute for Advanced Medical Training, and from 1984 to 1987, he did PhD course at the same department. In 1988, he defended Candidate’s thesis. From 1987 to 2000, Petr Rusakevich worked as an assistant at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology №2 of Belarusian State Institute for Advanced Medical Training. In 1997, he got the highest qualification category in obstetrics and gynecology and was issued the international certificate in colposcopy.
In 2001, Petr Rusakevich defended Doctoral thesis; in 2002, he got the academic title of associate professor. In 2002, he started to work as professor at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of BelMAPE, where he has been working until the present.
Petr Rusakevich participated in the development of 6 methodological recommendations, 6 instructions, approved by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus; unified postgraduate training program in obstetrics and gynecology; 3 workshops of thematic advanced training courses; curriculum and retraining program (clinical residency); 3 reference manuals, 3 study guides.
The main directions of scientific researches include different aspects of diagnostics and treatment of early oncological pathology of women’s reproductive organs, and also the issues of application of drug-free (laser) methods of treatment in obstetrics and gynecology.
He is an author of 135 publications. In 2000, Petr Rusakevich got 2 authors’ certificates for invention.
Petr Rusakevich is in charge of the outpatient and obstetric divisions of Minsk Maternity Hospital №2. Annually, he consults about 700−750 patients with early preoncopathology of reproductive organs. He carries out 100-150 ambulatory operative interventions. He is a member of the Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus.
