Sergei Kachan

Sergei Kachan was born in 1958. In 1982, he graduated from Minsk State Medical Institute, Pediatric Faculty. After the internship, from 1983 to1986, he worked as a pediatrician in Grodno region. In 1986, he got the position of a junior researcher at Belarusian Scientific and Research Institute for Maternity and Childhood Protection. Since 1990 until the present, he has been working at Minsk Regional Hospital: first – as head of the Newborn Pathology Unit, from 1993 to 2002 – as deputy chief physician for newborns at the Maternity Hospital of Minsk Region, since 2002 – as head of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Sergei Kachan has the highest qualification category in pediatrics, anesthesiology and intensive care, and also the first qualification category in healthcare management.

In 2005, Sergei Kachan got a reward as an excellent worker of public health of the Republic of Belarus. In 2009, he got the medal for labor merits.

Sergei Kachan is an author of 20 scientific publications.
