Sergei Voskresensky was born in the town of Ussuriysk of Primorsky region, Russian Federation. In 1977 he graduated from Minsk Medical Institute with a specialty in General Medicine. In 1980, after finishing his internship, he worked as a gynecologist and intensivist at Minsk City Clinical Hospital № 7. From 1980 to 1998 Sergei Voskresensky worked as a junior research worker, and then as a senior and leading research worker of Obstetric Unit; he headed Reproductive Health Unit of Scientific and Research Institute for Maternity and Childhood Protection of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus.
Since 1998 Sergei Voskresensky had been working as a head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology №2 of Belarusian State Institute for Advanced Medical Training, then (since 2000) – of BelMAPE; since 2003 until the present he has been working as a head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of BelMAPE.
In 1987 Sergei Voskresensky defended his Candidate’s thesis entitled: «Variants of cervical dilatation during birth in time and their clinical value». In 1996 he defended his Doctoral thesis entitled: «Role of uterine activity during labour». He got his highest qualification category in 2000. Sergei Voskresensky was awarded the academic title of a doctor of medical sciences in 1997. In 2000 he was awarded the academic title of a professor.
Sergei Voskresensky is an author of more than 120 printed works, including 1 monograph; he is a coauthor of 3 patents. His main scientific interests are the following ones: development of the problems of physiology and pathophysiology of labour, fetal monitoring, uterine leiomyomas during pregnancy, and congenital abnormalities of genital tract.
