Senior lecturer of the Department of Pediatric Surgery
Svetlana Novitskaya graduated from Minsk State Medical Institute, Pediatrics Faculty, in 1983. From 1983 to 1984, she did internship as a pediatric surgeon at Children’s Surgery Center of the 1st Clinical Hospital. From March, 1989, to November, 1990, Svetlana Novitskaya worked as a pediatric surgeon at Minsk Polyclinic № 23 and at Children’s Surgery Center of the 1st Clinical Hospital. Since December, 1990, Svetlana Novitskaya had been working as an emergency pediatric surgeon at Children’s Surgery Center of the 1st Clinical Hospital. From July, 2005, to January, 2020, she worked as a pediatric surgeon at the Division of Selective Surgery of Children’s Surgery Center. Since January, 2020, she has been working as senior lecturer at the Department of Pediatric Surgery of BelMAPE.
Svetlana Novitskaya performs a wide range of surgical interventions at the pathology of abdominal organs and breast in children. She carries out operations on children with congenital anorectal malformations, on newborns with congenital malformations and acute surgical diseases. She carries out advanced surgical procedures, such as esophagocoloplasty, all kinds of surgeries at Hirschsprung disease, reconstructive operations on bile ducts, thoracic and laparoscopic operations. She performs laparoscopic operations, and other minimally invasive interventions (puncture and abdominal cyst drainage under ultrasound control). She uses special methods of investigation and treatment of children with complicated surgical pathology (ultrasound, bronchoscopy, splenoportagraphy).
Svetlana Novitskaya constantly improves her knowledge and participates at the conferences of the European Pediatric Surgeon’s Association, Baltic Association of Pediatric Surgeons, Polish Association of Pediatric Surgeons. She is an author of many publications, including foreign ones.
