Svetlana Vasiliu-Svetlitskaya graduated from Bogomolets National Medical University (Kiev), Sanitary and Hygienic Faculty, in 1962. She started her career as a research assistant at the Laboratory of Toxicology of Kiev Institute of Nutritional Hygiene. In 1973 Svetlana Vasiliu-Svetlitskaya defended her Candidate’s thesis entitled «Glucose oxidase as a dietary supplement and its influence on the animal’s body and on the quality of processed food».
Since 1977, for three years, Svetlana Vasiliu-Svetlitskaya had been working as an instructor, giving lectures on the methods of clinical laboratory researches at Minsk Medical College № 1.
Since 1980 she had been working as a senior lecturer at the Department of Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics of BelMAPE, and afterwards – as an associate professor, where she has been working until the present. Svetlana Vasiliu-Svetlitskaya gives lectures, conducts seminars on research methods in hematology.
She is an author of more than 120 scientific works, a co-author of the study guide «Methods of Clinical Laboratory Researches», the practical guides «Diagnostic Value of Laboratory Findings», «Hemostatic System» and other academic publications.
Svetlana Vasiliu-Svetlitskaya provides assistance to specialists working at clinical and diagnostic laboratories of the Republic of Belarus.
