Valeria Sokolchik was born in Russia (in the city of Veliky Novgorod). She graduated from Lomonosov Moscow State University, Faculty of Philosophy. From 1995 to 1998, she did PhD course at the Department of Ethics, Esthetics. In 2003, she defended Candidate’s thesis and got the academic title of Candidate of Philosophy Sciences. In 2007, she got the academic title of associate professor.
Since 1999, she had been working as a lecturer, senior lecturer and associate professor at Belarusian State Medical University. From 2009 to 2012, Valeria Sokolchik worked as head of the Department of Science and Quality of Education at the International University «MITSO». From 2012 to 2014, she worked as head of the Department of Doctoral Training Courses, PhD courses, Master’s courses at Belarusian State Medical University. From 2015 until the present, she has been working as an associate professor at the Department of Public Health and Healthcare of BelMAPE. She is an author of the courses on bioethics at the Department of Public Health and Healthcare.
In October, 2018, Valeria Sokolchik started to work as head of the Department of Doctoral Training Courses, PhD courses and clinical residency of BelMAPE.
Since 2018, Valeria Sokolchik has been working as a deputy chairman of the Committee for Bioethics of the Republic of Belarus.
Valeria Sokolchik is an author of more than 80 scientific publications, including a monograph, 5 training and teaching manuals, 2 electronic academic and methodological books.
The fields of scientific interest: methodology of science, philosophy of medicine, biomedical ethics / medical ethics and deontology.
